US Has No Timeline to Cut China Tariffs on $60 Billion of Goods, Greer Says

US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said there is no timeline for cutting tariffs on $60 billion of goods recently recommended by the US-China Board of Trade, multiple outlets reported Thursday, citing Greer's remarks at the G20 Trade Ministerial in Milwaukee.

"We have to stick to our legal processes," Greer said, according to the reports, adding that the board's recommendations may be included in future tariff measures.

Bloomberg said the process would require a public comment period and a legal determination on whether to adopt the recommendations, making it less likely that US consumers will see lower tariffs in time for the holiday season.
