Financial stocks were mixed in late Thursday afternoon trading with the NYSE Financial Index down 0.6% and the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) rising 0.1%.
The Philadelphia Housing Index gained 0.4%, and the State Street Real Estate Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLRE) fell 0.5%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) rose 1.4% to $84,702, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries fell 6 basis points to 5.24%.
In corporate news, Blackstone (BX) is among potential bidders planning to make an offer for Dutch drone detection company Robin Radar Systems, Reuters reported. Separately, Blackstone announced a "significant investment" to launch defense technology firm Falcata through the acquisition and combination of TSC and Applied Systems Engineering. The investment was $1 billion, Bloomberg reported. Blackstone shares rose 0.1%.
