NAB Launches Encrypted Digital ID Verification in Queensland Branches to Combat Fraud

National Australia Bank (ASX:NAB) launched tamper-proof encrypted identity verification in branches to tackle increasingly sophisticated fraud and scams, according to a Thursday statement.

The bank said the new capability, launching in selected Queensland branches this month, allows customers to securely share information from their Queensland mobile driver's licence directly with NAB, transferring the information without manual data entry or physical documentation required.

The company's shares fell 2% in recent Thursday trade.
