Ampol (ASX:ALD), through its wholly owned subsidiary Ampol Energy, has agreed to acquire 100% of Evie Networks for AU$225 million, subject to Australian Competition and Consumer Commission clearance and other customary conditions, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The deal will add more than 1,030 charging bays to AmpCharge's existing network, bringing its total to around 1,425 bays across more than 400 sites, per the filing.
Evie's well-located sites, long-term leases and grid connections are expected to support faster, capital-efficient growth, with the combined business forecast to generate AU$30 million in annualized earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) within three years of completion, including around AU$10 million in cost synergies, and reach EBITDA breakeven in 2028, the filing said.
The acquisition will be fully debt-funded and is expected to have a nominal impact on the company's leverage, the filing added.
