Daito, Meiji Seika Pharma, DBJ to Form JV to Take Over Kyorin Pharmaceutical's Generic Drug Business

Daito Pharmaceutical (TYO:4577), Meiji Holdings' (TYO:2269) operating subsidiary Meiji Seika Pharma, and Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) will form a joint venture to launch Pharmatech Co‑creation Platform in December, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Wednesday.
Pharmatech Co‑creation Platform will take over Kyorin Pharmaceutical's (TYO:4569) generic drug segment by April 1, 2027, following a share transfer agreement to acquire shares of Kyorin Rimedio.
The joint venture will be owned 49.1% by Daito Pharmaceutical, 36% by Meiji Seika Pharma and 14.9% by the Development Bank of Japan, the filing said.
