Stemcyte Submits Regenerative Medical Drug Application to Taiwan FDA; Shares Up 10%

Stemcyte International's (TPE:4178) major unit, StemCyte, submitted a new drug application to the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) for REGENECYTE, a regenerative medicinal product used in unrelated-donor hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation, according to a Wednesday filing with the Taiwan bourse.
Shares of the company jumped nearly 10% in Thursday's midday trade.
The TFDA will review the application for marketing authorization.
REGENECYTE has already received biologics license application approval from the U.S. FDA for marketing authorization, it said.
