Sector Update: Financial Stocks Rise Premarket Friday

Financial stocks were rising premarket Friday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) advancing by 0.5%.

The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was up 1.6% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 1.3% lower.

CME Group (CME) stock was marginally lower after the company posted a record average daily volume, or ADV, of 31.8 million contracts in September, up 22% year over year.

BlackRock (BLK) expects to maintain around 30% growth in its assets under management in Brazil next year despite uncertainty about presidential elections next month, Reuters reported, citing an interview with Brazil Chief Executive Bruno Barino. BlackRock shares were up 0.5% pre-bell.

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group's (MUFG) MUFG Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group's (SMFG) Sumitomo Mitsui Banking are in talks with Nidec to renew committed credit lines totaling 600 billion Yen ($3.8 billion), Bloomberg reported, citing Nidec's spokesperson. Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group shares were up 0.9% premarket.
