British billionaire Chris Rokos has sold his mansion in the affluent Palm Beach County town of Manalapan, Fla., for $83.2 million, according to property records and a person familiar with the situation.
The house was listed for $150 million in February 2025; the price was lowered to $135 million in February. The unidentified buyer likely views the property, which sits on close to 3 acres, as a prospective teardown or renovation project, according to local agents. Rokos declined to comment.
Rokos paid $40 million for the Bali-inspired waterfront property in 2017, property records show.
The original structure was built in the 1970s for the late Generoso Pope, Jr., the onetime owner of the National Enquirer, and his wife, philanthropist Lois Pope. The property has undergone several extensions since then.
The roughly 35,000-square-foot estate is currently configured with nine bedrooms and has a spa wing with a massage room, gym, hair salon, rain shower and a meditation-and-yoga terrace.
Rokos co-founded the European hedge fund Brevan Howard before launching Rokos Capital Management, which has offices in London, New York, Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
Jack Elkins of William Raveis Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International represented Rokos in the deal. The buyer was represented by Rosalind Clark of Premier Estate Properties.
Manalapan has seen a spate of big-ticket transactions in recent years, including a $173 million purchase by billionaire Larry Ellison.
