Singapore Aero Engine Services Private Limited (SAESL) said on Sep, 23 2026 that it will sign four Memoranda of Understanding with the Institute of Technical Education, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic and the A*STAR Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre at the MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 event.
The agreements will create education-to-employment pathways, including training modules, internships, traineeships and work-study programmes, and are expected to supply up to 200 trainee technicians each year. SAESL plans to recruit more than 1,000 technicians over the next five years.
A separate five-year “Future MRO Partnership” with A*STAR ARTC will focus on AI-native and autonomous inspection, assembly and disassembly solutions, joint workforce development initiatives and support for local small and medium-sized enterprises to adopt advanced manufacturing technologies.
These initiatives support SAESL’s previously announced 242 million Singapore dollars expansion programme, which includes a new 26,000-square-metre facility at JTC’s Loyang industrial estate scheduled for completion in 2027, additional space at Rolls-Royce’s Seletar Aerospace Park premises and a targeted 40 percent increase in maintenance, repair and overhaul capacity. SAESL recently marked its 25th anniversary and the servicing of its 5,000th Rolls-Royce Trent engine.
