Big Tech Shares Rise Broadly as Tesla Jumps Over 5%

On Friday, large-cap technology stocks traded broadly higher. As of the latest update, Tesla (TSLA.US) gained more than 5%, Google (GOOG.US, GOOGL.US) rose over 2%, AMD (AMD.US) and Broadcom (AVGO.US) each climbed more than 3%, Amazon (AMZN.US) advanced over 1.7%, and Meta (META.US) added more than 1%.

On the news front, Tesla reported third-quarter deliveries that surpassed Wall Street expectations, helped by a recovery in the European market this year following weak sales in 2022. Tesla delivered a total of 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter, above the analyst average estimate of 456,896. These figures suggest that after two consecutive years of annual sales declines, Tesla's core automotive business may be stabilizing. Tesla needs to deliver at least 311,448 vehicles in the fourth quarter to avoid a third straight year of annual delivery declines. Analysts expect the gradual rollout of Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) software in Europe to further boost sales growth. FSD has currently been approved for use in eight countries.
