During a recent event marking its tenth anniversary, Freetech Chairman and CEO Dr. Zhang Lin reviewed the company's journey from developing driver assistance products to achieving mass production delivery, and outlined plans to advance its business around platformization, AI integration, and globalization, steering the company toward becoming an AI-native enterprise.
Founded in 2016, Freetech entered the market through driver assistance, and its product lineup now covers integrated machines, millimeter-wave radar, camera modules, and domain controllers.
Zhang Lin stated that in its early days, the company chose a gradual development path, and for the next phase proposed a strategy of "comprehensive following with targeted breakthroughs": improving efficiency in mature technology areas while pursuing innovation breakthroughs in key fields.
Regarding the three directions, Zhang Lin said the first is platformization, where the digital intelligence platform will continue to integrate AI capabilities, driving iterative upgrades of R&D tools, development processes, and technology modules to enhance product development and platform reuse capabilities.
The second is AI integration, continuously strengthening algorithms, data closed loops, simulation, and engineering systems, deepening the comprehensive AI integration of R&D, operations, and manufacturing, and exploring more physical AI scenarios such as mobile intelligent agents starting from automotive.
The third is globalization, where the company is comprehensively strengthening its local technical support and service system, expanding to more international customers while serving Chinese automakers.
Zhang Lin also stated that building AI capabilities requires the participation of all employees, promoting the integration of AI into daily research, development, and collaboration.
