Volvo Cars said on Friday that it will not be able to meet its previously announced full-year sales and cash flow targets, citing an increasingly severe market situation and deteriorating near-term outlook.

Volvo Cars said that under the current market environment, the company's sales have fallen short of expectations, and its full-year business outlook has also turned more pessimistic.

The company said: "The sales decline is mainly due to further deterioration in the Chinese market and a slower-than-expected recovery in the U.S. market; meanwhile, the European market remains resilient."
