China's Ministry of Commerce announced that it has extended the deadline for two trade barrier investigations targeting US practices, according to a report on the 30th.
The ministry issued two separate announcements detailing decisions to prolong the investigations into US measures that disrupt global production and supply chains, and US practices that obstruct green product trade.
In accordance with the Foreign Trade Law of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Commerce's Rules on Foreign Trade Barrier Investigation, on March 27, 2026, the ministry issued Announcements No. 17 and No. 18 of 2026, launching trade barrier investigations into US practices and measures that undermine global industrial and supply chains, as well as those that hinder green product trade.
Given the complexity of the cases, and pursuant to Article 32 of the Rules on Foreign Trade Barrier Investigation, the ministry decided to extend the investigation period for both cases until December 27, 2026.
On September 27, the ministry's official website published the relevant announcements. Announcement No. 41 of 2026, issued by the Trade Remedy Bureau, concerns the extension of the trade barrier investigation into US practices and measures that disrupt global production and supply chains.
