Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport is bracing for a peak in travel during the National Day holiday.
According to airport projections, the holiday period is expected to see more than 2,800 aircraft movements and over 400,000 passenger trips.
During the holiday, passenger flows will show a pattern of high volumes at both ends and steadier traffic in the middle, with October 1 being the outbound peak and October 6 marking the return peak, when daily passenger throughput is expected to exceed 60,000 during peak hours.
To meet passenger demand, Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport has optimized its route network, planning to launch and add frequency on flights linking Lanzhou with more than 10 cities including Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xiamen during the National Day Golden Week, and to restore routes connecting Lanzhou with nearly 20 cities including Taiyuan, Zhuhai, Zunyi, Enshi and Harbin, offering travelers more choices.
The airport reminds passengers that with holiday traffic concentrated, it is advisable to allow ample time for check-in, baggage drop-off, security screening and other boarding procedures.
Reporters learned that the airport has refined its service measures for check-in, transfers and other processes.
Passengers can check in online in advance through airline official websites, mini-programs and apps; those without checked baggage can proceed directly through security with an electronic boarding pass.
Self-service check-in kiosks stop processing procedures 35 minutes before flight departure, and the counter check-in deadline for domestic flights is 30 minutes before departure.
The minimum connection time for domestic transfers at Lanzhou from provincial feeder routes and through-flights is 60 minutes, while the guaranteed connection time for rapid domestic transfers is 40 to 60 minutes.
Late-arriving passengers can look for on-site staff wearing green vests to quickly complete boarding procedures at dedicated counters.
In addition, the airport's "Xiaohong Helps You" warm-hearted service is also available, providing full-journey assistance for mothers and infants, elderly passengers, unaccompanied children and first-time flyers. The service hotline is 18215185825.
Tips:
Security screening and carrying specialty foods:
Security screening reminders: Passengers should prepare valid identification such as ID cards and passports in advance; those who have lost their documents can go to the airport police station or use a WeChat mini-program to obtain a temporary boarding certificate and proceed through manual verification counters.
Power bank requirements: Each person may carry a maximum of 2 power banks, which must have clear and complete 3C markings and must not be of a recalled model; those with a rated energy of 100Wh or less can be carried on board directly, while those between 100Wh and 160Wh require airline approval. Power banks are strictly prohibited in checked baggage.
Specialty food reminders: Liangpi and seasoning sauces must be packed in small quantities in independent sealed packaging that is intact before they can be carried on board; raw beef and mutton must be sealed and packaged to prevent blood and water leakage and must be checked in.
