HSBC Private Bank has appointed Francesca Chan as Head of Family and Philanthropy Advisory for Asia Pacific, effective September 29, 2026, according to a report.

She will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Ann Ling, Head of Wealth Planning and Advisory for Asia Pacific. Chan will lead the specialist team for family advisory and philanthropy advisory in the region.

She will be responsible for deepening client relationships and driving business growth through bespoke advisory solutions, guiding ultra-high-net-worth clients on multi-generational wealth transfer, family office establishment, family governance frameworks, and strategic philanthropy planning.

HSBC said in a statement that Chan's appointment further reinforces the bank's commitment to delivering client-centric, multi-disciplinary solutions for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families in Asia Pacific.

Chan brings nearly two decades of private wealth management experience. Before joining HSBC, she served as Executive Director and Senior Family Advisor at UBS Group, advising Asia's leading ultra-high-net-worth families on generational succession planning and long-term management, covering family office setup, residence planning, governance framework design and implementation, as well as participating in the development of family strategy, philanthropic vision, and next-generation development plans.

Prior to UBS, Chan held roles at Deloitte Private Bank, Noah Global Family Office, and BNP Paribas. She began her career as an investment advisor at HSBC Securities in Canada.

Ann Ling commented: "Francesca Chan has deep expertise in advising Asia's most complex multi-generational families, which will strengthen our ability to deliver holistic solutions across succession, governance, family office establishment, and strategic philanthropy. We work closely with HSBC Trustee, one of Asia's largest bank-owned trust institutions with an 80-year heritage, serving some of the region's leading families for three generations or more. We will continue to help clients navigate key life stages with confidence, serving the present and benefiting future generations."
