Commerce Ministry: China's Outbound Direct Investment Reaches $113.39 Billion in First Eight Months, Up 3.9%

According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, China's outbound direct investment across all industries totaled 778.47 billion yuan in the first eight months of 2026, down 0.6% year on year (equivalent to $113.39 billion, up 3.9%).
Within this total, domestic investors made non-financial direct investments in 8,424 overseas enterprises across 148 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative investment reaching 595.06 billion yuan, down 14.4% (equivalent to $86.68 billion, down 10.6%).
