Sino Biopharmaceutical Limited (SBP Group; HKEX: 01177) has announced that its subsidiary, Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co. (CTTQ), has entered a strategic biosimilars partnership with STADA Arzneimittel AG aimed at widening patient access to biosimilar medicines across Europe, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The agreement grants STADA an exclusive licence to commercialise CTTQ’s pembrolizumab biosimilar candidate (development code: TQB3570, anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody) in the designated territories. CTTQ will receive an upfront payment and may earn development, regulatory and commercial milestones of up to €53.00 million, alongside a double-digit profit-share on future sales. The partnership also provides the option to add up to three additional oncology or immunology biosimilars, while giving STADA potential expansion rights to the United States and Gulf Cooperation Council member states.

Under the collaboration structure, CTTQ will lead development, manufacturing and global supply of the biosimilar candidates, leveraging the Group’s current 126,000-litre biologics manufacturing capacity (including 40,000 litres under construction). STADA will assume responsibility for obtaining and holding marketing authorisations and will manage all sales and marketing activities in the licensed regions.

Year-to-date, SBP Group has signed several out-licensing agreements with aggregate upfront and near-term milestone receipts of US$355.00 million and a total potential deal value of US$3.40 billion, underscoring growing international recognition of its R&D and manufacturing capabilities.

The collaboration targets the biosimilar of pembrolizumab, whose reference product KEYTRUDA generated approximately US$31.70 billion in global sales in 2025. As numerous biologic patents expire between 2025 and 2034—including 118 products in the United States with combined sales exceeding US$230.00 billion—the partnership positions both companies to capture a significant share of the expanding biosimilar market. SBP Group already has eight biosimilars approved in China and views the STADA alliance as a cornerstone for its broader global biosimilar strategy.
