Zhang Jianzhong, President of the Macau Hotel and Tourism Association, President of the Tourism Development Think Tank, Chairman of the Tourism Chamber of Commerce, and Chairman of Macau CTS, stated that the mainland National Day holiday is adjacent to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, making for an extended holiday period. Daily visitor arrivals during the National Day Golden Week are expected to surpass last year's level of 143,000. Currently, overall hotel booking conditions in Macau are relatively ideal, with hotel booking rates in the new port area at approximately 80%, and visitors generally booking for two to three nights.
Zhang Jianzhong noted that room rates have been raised during the peak season, but the increase has been reasonable. Booking figures are expected to continue rising, with overall occupancy rates potentially exceeding 90%. The peak period will arrive from October 1 to 5, during which some hotels may see occupancy rates approaching 100%.
Macau Tourism Bureau Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said in an interview that visitor conditions during the Mid-Autumn Festival were ideal, and she hopes the momentum will carry over into the National Day holiday. The authorities have deployed multiple measures to welcome visitors, aiming to achieve a daily average of 150,000 visitor arrivals.
The market performed strongly during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with approximately 140,000 inbound visitors on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival itself, and exceeding 170,000 on the day after. Favorable weather boosted visitors' willingness to travel. There are hopes that the Mid-Autumn Festival enthusiasm can be sustained through the National Day holiday period.
