Today (September 28), the Xiongan to Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway officially began operations, with the fastest travel time between Xiongan Station and Shangqiu Station reaching 2 hours and 27 minutes.
The Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway is one of the "vertical" lines in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. It starts from Beijing Fengtai Station, passes through Xiongan, Shangqiu, Hefei, Nanchang, Ganzhou, Shenzhen, and other locations, and terminates at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station.
Currently, the Shangqiu to Hefei section, the Hefei to Anqing to Jiujiang section, the Nanchang to Ganzhou section, the Ganzhou to Shenzhen section, and the Shenzhen to Hong Kong section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway have all been completed and are in operation. The Nanchang to Jiujiang section is still under construction, and the preliminary work for the Beijing Fengtai to Xiongan section is being actively and orderly advanced.
Starting today, passengers from Hefei, Huainan, Shou County, Fuyang, and Bozhou in Anhui Province can take high-speed trains directly to Beijing Daxing Airport.
The reporter noted that the high-speed train from Hefei to Daxing Airport departs from Hefei Station at 6:56, arrives at Huainan South Station at 7:23, arrives at Shou County Station at 7:34, arrives at Fuyang West Station at 8:05, arrives at Bozhou South Station at 8:34, and reaches Beijing Daxing Airport at 12:20.
From Daxing Airport to Hefei, there are three high-speed trains daily, mainly concentrated during the midday and afternoon periods.
After the Xiongan to Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway was completed and opened to traffic, the maximum operating speed is 350 kilometers per hour.
In the initial period of operation, the railway department will arrange up to 64 EMU trains per day, all of which are cross-line EMU trains, with the fastest travel time between Xiongan and Shangqiu reaching 2 hours and 27 minutes.
For the first time, cross-line high-speed trains will operate from Beijing West via the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway, the Xiongan-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, and the Shangqiu-Hefei section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway to Hefei and Huangshan North. Xiongan will also for the first time operate cross-line high-speed trains via the Xiongan-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, the Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway, and the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway to Shanghai Hongqiao.
To meet the diverse travel needs of passengers, the railway department is implementing a flexible discount and differentiated market-oriented pricing mechanism on the Xiongan-Shangqiu section of the Beijing-Hong Kong High-Speed Railway, providing passengers with more choices.
