As of September 30 this year, passenger throughput at Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport has exceeded 10 million, according to Hebei Airport Management Group Co., Ltd. on the 30th.

By that day, the airport's passenger throughput for the year had reached 10.04 million, up 11.5% year on year, ranking second among the country's 41 airports with a handling capacity of over 10 million passengers.

The flight load factor reached 89%, holding steady at the top among the nation's 10-million-level airports, with the load factor exceeding 90% during the 40-day summer travel rush.

As a key pole of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei world-class airport cluster, Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport has in recent years continued to focus on building a premium airport with "trunk-regional connectivity and full-network linkage."

Since the start of this year, the airport has continued to improve its route network, operating 133 passenger routes in total, including 10 international routes.

According to the airport, its two major segments — connecting flights and air-rail intermodal transport — have each surpassed the one-million-passenger mark two months earlier than last year, reaching 1.38 million and 1.21 million respectively, up 41% and 34% year on year.

A person in charge of Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport said that these two types of intermodal passengers account for 26% of the airport's total throughput, achieving coordinated improvement in hub functions, operational quality and the ability to attract and retain passengers.
