Three new high-speed railway stations will be added along two lines: the Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway. Let's take a look below.
Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway
01 Project Basic Information
✅ Project Route: The Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway starts from Tongxiang Station, passes through Tongxiang City and Haining City in Jiaxing City, crosses the Qiantang River and heads south, passes through Qiantang District and Xiaoshan District in Hangzhou City, and Keqiao District in Shaoxing City, finally arriving at Shaoxing North Station.
✅ Construction Scale: The newly built main line is approximately 72 kilometers long, of which the Tongxiang to Qiantang section is about 34 kilometers with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour; the Qiantang to Shaoxing section is about 38 kilometers with a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour; a connecting line from Hangzhou South Station to Xiaoshan Airport Station is about 13 kilometers long with a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
✅ Planned Construction Period: The project is planned to have a construction period of 4 years.
✅ Station Configuration: The entire line includes stations such as Tongxiang, Haining Guanchao, Qiantang, Xiaoshan Airport, and Shaoxing North, among which Haining Guanchao, Qiantang, and Xiaoshan Airport are newly built stations.
02 Hangzhou Qiantang Hub
Qiantang Station is located in Fenglou Village, Xinwan Street, Qiantang District, Hangzhou City. It is an important part of the Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway, the "origin point" of the future Qiantang High-Speed Railway New City area, and a key node in the multi-level rail transit network of the Yangtze River Delta. The total construction area of the Qiantang Station building and related projects is approximately 280,000 square meters, of which the railway station building is about 70,000 square meters and the comprehensive supporting project is about 210,000 square meters. Qiantang Station is an elevated station with a station yard scale of 6 platforms and 11 tracks, capable of originating and terminating trains. Passengers enter and exit the station using the "up-in, down-out" flow pattern. The hub will introduce Metro Line 8 and Line 19 (planned), bringing together high-speed rail, metro, and other multi-level transportation networks to form a well-connected transportation hub.
03 Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport Station
The new Xiaoshan Airport Station is located in Guali Town, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, on the south side of the comprehensive transportation center reserved in the airport construction master plan and between Terminal 2 buildings. The station is an underground station, implemented with a 2-platform 4-track plan (including 2 main lines), with an effective length of 650 meters for arrival and departure tracks. The station building is a side-type underground two-story structure, with the first underground floor serving as the station hall level and the second underground floor as the platform level. There are 10 ventilation pavilions, entrances and exits, and evacuation openings at ground level, with a total construction area of 56,000 square meters and a maximum gathering capacity of 1,000 people. The connecting line from Hangzhou South to Xiaoshan Airport to the Taizhou direction will be implemented simultaneously.
New Shanghai to Hangzhou High-Speed Railway
01 Project Basic Information
The new Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway will commence full-scale construction within 2026. The preliminary project started construction in September 2025, with a total construction period of 4 years, which means it is expected to be completed by 2029. The Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway is located in southern Shanghai and northern Zhejiang Province. The line starts in the east at the under-construction Shanghai East Station of the Eastern Hub, uses the second phase of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Railway to Situan Station, connects to the under-construction Nantong-Ningbo High-Speed Railway via Jiaxing South Station in the Jiaxing area, connects to the under-construction Hangzhou Airport High-Speed Railway via Tongxiang Station, and ends at Hangzhou West Station. The newly built main line is approximately 197 kilometers long (about 54 kilometers in the Shanghai section and about 143 kilometers in the Zhejiang section), with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The entire line has 9 stations, including 4 newly built stations: Fengxian, Shanghai Jinshan, Pinghu City, and Linping North; 4 stations to be renovated and expanded: Situan, Jiaxing South, Tongxiang, and Hangzhou West; and 1 station to be utilized: Shanghai East.
02 Linping North Station Hub
The plot is located in Donghu New City, bordering Ningqiao Avenue to the north, Hongda Road to the south, Xinghe Road to the west, and Heyu Road to the east. Linping North Station is located in Donghu New City, Linping District, near the intersection of Ningqiao Avenue and Heyu Road, close to Long'an Station on Metro Line 9.
