New World Development (00017) Posts HK$7.7 Billion Core Operating Profit for Fiscal 2026, First Growth in Three Years

New World Development (00017) has released its full-year results for fiscal 2026, showing improvements across multiple metrics including sales, profitability, and financial management.

During the period, the group's full-year attributable contracted sales reached HK$29.6 billion, surpassing its full-year target of HK$27 billion. Of this, attributable contracted sales in Hong Kong amounted to approximately HK$22 billion, marking a new high since fiscal 2021. Mainland China's full-year contracted sales totaled approximately RMB 6.8 billion.

On the profitability front, recurring net operating profit after tax came in at approximately HK$2.2 billion, achieving a turnaround to profitability for the first time in three years. Core operating profit rose approximately 28% year-on-year to HK$7.7 billion, reflecting continued improvement in the group's core business profitability and operational efficiency.

In terms of asset monetization, New World is advancing its first Hong Kong-capital C-REIT, listing Shanghai K11 Art Mall and K11 ATELIER New World Tower in the form of a C-REIT. The expected issuance size is approximately RMB 3.818 billion, with New World Development set to subscribe to at least a 20% stake. Upon completion of the subscription, the group's net proceeds are expected to be approximately RMB 3.2 billion.

At the same time, New World announced the sale of its Hangzhou Phase One and Ningbo office projects. These initiatives help unlock the value of mature mainland assets, broaden asset monetization channels, and reflect the market appeal of the group's high-quality assets.

New World's management emphasized that optimizing the balance sheet remains a priority, and the company will continue to actively manage its finances, further expand asset disposal channels, and accelerate capital recovery.
