Chaoyang region enjoys nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine annually, abundant light, large temperature differences between day and night, excellent soil conditions, and a rich farming culture heritage. These unique natural endowments have produced agricultural products of outstanding quality.
Previously, Chaoyang's agricultural products suffered from shortcomings including small brand scale, fragmentation, and weak brand strength, making it difficult for high-quality agricultural products to command premium prices. Following the development philosophy that good products need good brand empowerment, a relevant official from Chaoyang City proposed: "We must make good use of our advantages and pursue a brand-driven development path."
With the direction set, action followed. Chaoyang City issued the "Chaoyang City Agricultural Brand Enhancement Project Implementation Plan (2026-2030)," established an agricultural brand construction promotion group, and built a city-county linkage and departmental coordination work mechanism. The city established the "Chaoyang Premium Agricultural Products, Sunshine Flavor" regional public brand identity for agricultural products, focusing on building a matrix of regional public brands and enterprise product brands including Chaoyang Millet, Lingyuan Lily, and Beipiao Tomato.
Quality is the core competitiveness of a brand. The four group standards for Chaoyang Millet — "Production Environment," "Millet Planting Technology," "Processing Technology Regulations," and "Regional Public Brand Management Specifications" — led and compiled by Chaoyang City have been officially released and implemented, achieving standards that cover the entire chain from field to table. A brand authorization access and dynamic exit mechanism has been established to firmly maintain brand credibility. Simultaneously, an industry-university-research innovation platform has been built to cultivate varieties with independent intellectual property rights. The Chaoyang Millet Association was established to promote the "leading enterprise + cooperative + farmer" benefit-sharing model, driving the standardized and healthy development of agricultural brands.
Brand promotion efforts have been intensified. Cooperation with CCTV's Brand Power Project has been deepened, a series of promotional advertisements have been placed in key commercial districts and transportation hubs in Beijing, Shenyang, and Dalian, and creative short videos are regularly pushed across multiple platforms. Enterprises have been organized to participate in various agricultural exhibitions and production-marketing matchmaking events, deeply exploring the cultural connotations of Hongshan farming culture, and continuously expanding the brand influence of Chaoyang agricultural products.
As of now, Chaoyang City has 36 national famous, special, excellent, and new agricultural products (characteristic agricultural products) and 59 provincial-level agricultural product brands. The brand effect has strengthened the momentum of industrial development. Since the beginning of the year, targeted investment promotion has been carried out around 12 agricultural industry chains, with 109 agricultural projects signed, totaling 5.777 billion yuan in investment, and a number of key projects have already been implemented and put into production. Leveraging brand traction, the agricultural industry chain has been extended, and advantageous and characteristic industrial clusters including national white-feathered broiler chickens, Liaoyu white cattle, and protected vegetable cultivation have been cultivated and strengthened, promoting the industry's transformation toward scale, standardization, intelligence, and high added value, continuously broadening channels for farmers' income growth, and injecting lasting momentum into the construction of a modern agricultural powerhouse city and the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
