On the news front, TCL Electronics recently announced that it is considering spinning off and separately listing its solar business segment through a distribution in specie. At the same time, TCL Electronics plans to acquire the TCL air conditioning business for a total consideration of HK$5.61 billion. The company stated that one of the main reasons for spinning off the solar business is to allow the company to focus more on the global smart home appliance business segment, clarify its strategic development direction, and also facilitate the independent development of the solar business and broaden its financing channels.

Zhongtai Securities released a research report stating that the Sony television joint venture is expected to be consolidated in April 2027, which is likely to further strengthen the premiumization logic; in 2026, the company disclosed the consolidation of 51% of the air conditioning business, with a consideration of HK$5.6 billion, mainly through additional share issuance, and we expect the air conditioning consolidation to be injected by the end of 2026. The air conditioning industry itself has a higher net profit margin than the black appliance sector, and consolidation will enhance EPS; in August, the company disclosed the spin-off of solar operations, making the TCL Electronics platform purer and more focused on the globalization of home appliances.
