Nourishing Care: Three-Year Initiative to Benefit Around 130 Children in Need

The local Civil Affairs Bureau has officially launched the "Meals for Love" nutrition support program aimed at children from economically disadvantaged families. Running from now until August 2029, this three-year nutritional commitment is designed to deliver consistent nourishment to the tables of vulnerable children in the city, using charitable warmth to safeguard their healthy growth.

Implemented jointly by the municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and the Charity Federation, the program targets roughly 130 children from households that include those receiving special assistance, subsistence allowances, families on the margins of such support, and households facing significant rigid expenses. The funding standard is set at 10 yuan per child per day, with a foundational meal structure comprising "one cup of milk, two eggs, and a pack of nuts."

Building on this base, individual towns and sub-districts are encouraged to tailor the meal options according to local children's dietary preferences, ensuring the supplements are both nutritious and palatable. Financial backing comes from a two-tier system involving the municipal Charity Federation alongside town and sub-district charity chapters. The city federation has allocated 510,000 yuan over the three-year period, subsidizing 30% of the actual expenditures incurred by each locality.

Food items will be delivered collectively on a monthly basis, arriving at recipient households by the 25th of each month, complete with signed delivery records to ensure every measure of goodwill is properly accounted for. A meal provided, a measure of concern expressed—this initiative represents yet another pragmatic step by the city to enhance its child protection system and bolster livelihood security for children in difficult circumstances.

By addressing growth gaps from the ground up, it channels the city's warmth through small, tangible actions. Moving forward, the relevant departments will closely monitor key aspects such as supply distribution, quality control, and financial compliance, ensuring that every nourishing package is delivered safely into the hands of these children. Under the collective protection of society, they will be empowered to thrive and flourish.
