On September 29, the 130-meter steel truss arch of the Hutuo River Grand Bridge on the Shijiazhuang-Xiongan Railway, which spans the North Third Ring Road, was successfully closed, laying the foundation for subsequent girder erection work. This information was obtained from China Railway Beijing Group Co., Ltd.

Xing Chunlei, project manager of the China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group's Shijiazhuang-Xiongan Railway Section 6, introduced that the 130-meter steel truss arch spanning the North Third Ring Road is located in Shijiazhuang and is a key and difficult control project of Section 6. The section has a total length of 14.1 kilometers and mainly includes the 2-100 meter T-structure rotation of the Hutuo River Grand Bridge, the 130-meter steel truss arch over the North Third Ring Road, and the continuous beam across the Hutuo River.

The 130-meter steel truss arch over the North Third Ring Road breaks through the traditional cable-suspended steel pipe arch bridge structure and innovatively adopts an I-beam diagonal web member steel truss arch structure. The steel truss arch spans the North Third Ring Road expressway, an area with dense commuter traffic and heavy day-and-night traffic loads, resulting in limited effective construction time. The dual constraints of limited existing road traffic conditions and narrow working space also impose stringent requirements on hoisting precision and multi-party coordinated operations.

"We adopted the overall construction plan of 'girder first, then arch,' used the bracket in-situ assembly technique to achieve closure, and simultaneously activated a fully automated monitoring system during construction and operation phases to carry out uninterrupted monitoring of welds and main structure conditions, safeguarding the structural safety of the project," Xing Chunlei introduced.

To ensure smooth construction, the project team worked with traffic management, municipal, and other departments to prepare a special traffic diversion plan, dividing social traffic lanes, emergency escape passages, and construction isolation zones. They also compressed lanes in stages, guided and diverted traffic flows, and dynamically optimized ground traffic organization to minimize construction interference with urban traffic and effectively guarantee the uninterrupted normal operation of the existing North Third Ring Road expressway network.

The Shijiazhuang-Xiongan Railway is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour and is being built by the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Intercity Railway Investment Co., Ltd. After the line opens to traffic, it will be of great significance for improving the layout of the modern comprehensive transportation system of the Beijing-Shijiazhuang corridor, implementing the national strategy of coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and supporting the construction and development of Xiongan New Area.
