Travel convenience is being upgraded once again, as changes to flight procedures in Chengdu take effect from tomorrow.
At Shuangliu International Airport, the check-in cutoff time for Sichuan Airlines' "Chengdu-Shenzhen Express" and "Chengdu-Guangzhou Express" routes will be shortened to just 15 minutes before departure.
Starting September 23, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, in partnership with Sichuan Airlines, will launch the "Cong Rong Xing" service on the "Chengdu-Shenzhen Express" and "Chengdu-Guangzhou Express" routes. This means passengers flying from Chengdu Shuangliu to Shenzhen Bao'an or Guangzhou Baiyun without checked baggage will no longer be subject to the traditional check-in deadline, and only need to arrive at the designated boarding gate before it closes, which is 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time, to board smoothly.
To provide passengers with a more convenient and high-quality travel experience, the airport has set up dedicated check-in counters and a dedicated security screening area in Terminal 1's departure hall for these routes, helping travelers better manage their schedules.
For passengers with checked baggage, the check-in cutoff time remains 30 minutes before the scheduled departure, so it is recommended that they allow ample time to arrive at the airport and complete the necessary procedures to avoid missing their flights.
In related news, passengers flying Sichuan Airlines or China Southern Airlines on routes between Chengdu and the "Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Urumqi" corridors can now benefit from cross-airline and cross-airport ticket changes. This offers more flight options, making travel more efficient and hassle-free. The initial phase of this "Southern Sichuan Express" service covers three premium routes, including round trips from both Chengdu Shuangliu and Chengdu Tianfu airports to Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, and Urumqi Tianshan, with plans to gradually expand to more routes in the future.
With the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays fast approaching, the popular "take 3 days off for 13 consecutive days" leave strategy has driven up overall airfare prices. Many travelers are opting to travel during off-peak times, and flights to Chengdu from across the country are now available at prices as low as just over 100 yuan.
