Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport restored its intercontinental passenger route to Vancouver on October 2, with the departure of Capital Airlines flight JD471 at 9:07 a.m., marking the resumption of the Hangzhou-Qingdao-Vancouver service, which will operate once every Friday.
The Hangzhou-Qingdao-Vancouver route first launched in 2016 and served travelers from East China studying, visiting relatives, doing business, and touring in Canada for years, safely carrying tens of thousands of passengers during its operation and becoming an important air link for people-to-people exchanges and economic and trade ties between China and Canada.
After a multi-year hiatus, the classic route that carries travel memories for both sides has returned, continuing the model of departing from Hangzhou and stopping in Qingdao, operated by Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.
Hangzhou Airport has recently continued to expand its international route network. In the early hours of October 1, flight H9226 carrying 154 passengers flew to Nepal, marking the official launch of the direct Hangzhou-Kathmandu route. This is Zhejiang's first direct route to Nepal and also enabled Hangzhou Airport to achieve full coverage of routes across all Asian regions for the first time. Currently, Hangzhou Airport has air links to 31 overseas destinations in Asia, including Singapore, Seoul, and Bangkok.
