Norway Electric Vehicles Set Monthly Record, Capturing 98.8% of New Car Sales

Electric vehicles accounted for a record 98.8% of newly registered passenger cars in Norway last month, according to monthly data from the Norwegian Road Federation.
Car sales in September rose 30.7% year on year, reversing the market's decline earlier in the year and coming in 1.7% higher than the level at the end of September 2025.
Tesla returned to the top of the sales rankings after a two-month hiatus, accounting for 26% of total sales for the month; Toyota ranked second with 7.1%, while Volkswagen placed third with 6.3%.
