CSPC Pharma Shares Rise Nearly 6% on String of R&D Updates Spanning mRNA Cancer Vaccines and Recombinant Protein Vaccines

CSPC Pharma (01093) rose nearly 6%, up 5.86% as of press time to HK$10.03, with turnover of HK$402 million.

On the news front, between September 28 and 29, CSPC Pharma disclosed multiple R&D developments in succession, covering areas such as mRNA cancer vaccines, recombinant protein vaccines, and obesity treatment.

On September 29, CSPC Pharma announced that its developed Class 1 preventive biological product, the recombinant shingles vaccine (SYS6052), has received approval from the U.S. FDA to conduct related clinical research in the United States.

On the same day, the company also announced that the Phase Ib clinical trial (JMT206–003) of its JMT206 injection for weight management in overweight or obese adult patients has officially been initiated at the first research center in China.

Earlier, on the evening of September 28, CSPC Pharma announced that its developed SYS 6077 injection has received a drug clinical trial approval notice issued by China's National Medical Products Administration, allowing it to conduct clinical trials in China. The approved clinical indication this time is advanced malignant tumors.

The clinical trial approval for this product marks an important step for the group in mRNA technology and tumor immunology, and it is expected to provide a brand-new treatment option for patients with malignant tumors in the future.
